RECOMMENDED AUDIO SETTINGS FOR BEST AUDIO EXPERIENCE

Select your hardware platform for corresponding instruction:

Nvidia Shield
Windows OS
Android Box
Mac OS
Linux/Ubuntu

Step-By-Step Procedure:

Setting Audio Output (Hardware Settings)

1. Open Audio MIDI Setup

2. Select HDMI on the left tab

3. Verify the Encoded Output option under audio format is available (but not selectable)

4. Verify the audio output format as Encoded Output when the video is playing via Kodi App

Setting Audio Format (Kodi App)

1. Go to System

2. Select System Settings

3. Under Audio setting, select Expert to access all settings

Setting Audio Decoder:

4. Under Audio output device, select Nakamichi

5. Set Number of channels to 7.1

6. Set Output configuration to Best match

7. Set Maintain original volume on downmix to OFF

8. Set Stereo upmix to ON

9. Set Send low volume noise to ON

Setting Audio Passthrough:

10. Set Allow passthrough to ON (MANDATORY)

11. Set Passthrough output device to Nakamichi

12. Set Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver to ON

13. Set DTS capable receiver to ON

14. Go back to System menu, select Player settings

15. Under Video setting, select Expert to access all settings

16. Set Sync playback to display to OFF (MANDATORY)

2. Select Advanced Settings

3. Select Surround Sound

4. Select Always

Setting Audio Format (Kodi App)

1. Go to System

2. Select System Settings

3. Under Audio setting, select Expert to access all settings

Setting Audio Decoder:

4. Under Audio output device, select Nakamichi

5. Set Number of channels to 7.1

6. Set Output configuration to Best match

7. Set Maintain original volume on downmix to OFF

8. Set Stereo upmix to ON

9. Set Send low volume noise to ON

Setting Audio Passthrough:

10. Set Allow passthrough to ON (MANDATORY)

11. Set Passthrough output device to Nakamichi

12. Set Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver to ON (Turn OFF Dolby Digital Plus capable receiver and turn OFF Dolby TrueHD capable receiver if the options are available)

13. Set DTS capable receiver to ON

14. Go back to System menu, select Player settings

15. Under Video setting, select Expert to access all settings

16. Set Sync playback to display to OFF (MANDATORY)

16. Set Sync playback to display to OFF (MANDATORY)

3. Set as Default device

4. Under Nakamichi's  Properties Settings, set Device Usage as Use this device (enable)

3. Under Audio setting, select Expert to access all settings

4. Under Audio output device, select Nakamichi

5. Set Number of channels to 7.1

6. Set Output configuration to Best match

17. Set Sync playback to display to OFF (MANDATORY)
