Subwoofer and Surround Speakers Troubleshooting

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the subwoofer and surround speakers:

1. Press DEMO button on the top of soundbar to perform channel sound check.

  • Proceed to Step A if the subwoofer and surround speakers are working.

  • Proceed to Step 2 if the subwoofer and surround speakers are NOT working.

  • Proceed to Step 6 if the subwoofer is working but surround speakers are NOT working.

  • Proceed to Step 8 if the subwoofer is working but one of surround speakers are NOT working.

2. Verify if the subwoofer is powered ON by flipping the power switch at the back of subwoofer. If the Blue LED is not lit, try a different power outlet or switch the power cord.

If you are unable to power on the subwoofer at all, contact support@nakamichi-usa.com.

3. If the subwoofer is able to power ON, verify if the Blue LED at the back of subwoofer stays solid lit. If the Blue LED is blinking, it means that the subwoofer is in pairing mode and unable to link with the soundbar.

Visit HERE to re-link the subwoofer to the soundbar.

4. Once the subwoofer is linked with the soundbar, perform another round of channel sound check by pressing the DEMO button.

  • Proceed to Step A if the subwoofer and surround speakers are working now.

  • Proceed to Step 5 if the subwoofer and surround speakers are NOT working.

  • Proceed to Step 7 if the subwoofer is working but one of surround speakers are NOT working.

5. Visit HERE to perform system reset.

  • Make sure that the subwoofer/s is sitting on a flat/similar surface.

6. Once the system is reset, perform another round of channel sound check by pressing the DEMO button.

  • Proceed to Step A if the subwoofer and surround speakers are working now.

  • Proceed to Step 7 if the subwoofer is working but one of surround speakers are NOT working.

  • Contact us at support@nakamcihi-usa.com if you still cannot get the subwoofer and surround speakers to work at this point.

7. Switch the rear speaker in question to a different subwoofer port that is working. Perform the same process with the RCA cables to determine if the rear speaker, subwoofer or cable that is not functioning properly.

A. Ensure the soundbar is receiving right audio format and upmixing is activated.

  • Ensure Neural X or Pure Direct OFF is set by pressing Pure Direct button on soundbar remote.

  • Ensure the soundbar is receiving Dolby/DTS audio for better audio quality. Press Info button on soundbar remote to verify the received audio format. If you are receiving PCM audio, visit HERE for audio settings of TVs and content devices.

  • Increase the Bass level to increase bass loudness.

  • Increase Surround and Surround Back level to increase surround speaker loudness.
