RECOMMENDED AUDIO SETTINGS FOR BEST AUDIO EXPERIENCE

Recommended Setup: Connect PlayStation 4 Pro to soundbar's HDMI input

Step-By-Step Procedure:

1. Go to Settings screen

2. Select Sound and Screen

3. Select Audio Output Settings

4. Select Primary Output Port

5. Set to HDMI OUT

6. Uncheck Output 5.1ch Audio (deactivate this feature for full 7.1ch audio output)

7. Select Audio Format (Priority)

8. Set to Bitstream (DTS) (For game play and blu-ray playback) or Bitstream (Dolby) (For Netflix streaming)

Blu-Ray Player Audio Settings:

1. Press Option button on game controller when the blu-ray content is playing

2. Go to Settings

3. Set Audio Format as Bitstream (Direct)

PlayStation 4 HDR Setup:

For Shockwafe DTS:X soundbars: The PS4 can be connected to soundbar directly to output HDR

For Shockwafe Pro 7.1 (2016) only: The PS4 must be connected directly from the PS4 to the TV to output HDR. It can’t be connected to a receiver (soundbar) or switch box.  

 

1. PS4 updated to system software 4.0 or later

2. Using a Premium HDMI cable, connect the PS4 to the to the proper HDMI port on the TV

3. Turn on your PS4

4. Go to the Video Output Information screen. Go to Settings > Sound and Screen > Video Output Settings

5. Check the onscreen messaging to ensure your TV is HDR capable

6. In the Video Output Settings menu, set the HDR and Deep Color output settings to Automatic
