Bluetooth Connection Issue

​In rare instances, the Bluetooth pairing for the first time could be a little difficult. Please try the following recommended solutions to resolve the issue:

A. Hard reset the soundbar 

  1. Power OFF and unplug the soundbar from the wall for 1 minute

  2. Turn ON the Bluetooth pairing mode on your phone/device

  3. Power ON the soundbar

  4. Switch the soundbar's source to BT (Bluetooth) mode

  5. Select SHOCKWAFE on the list of discovered devices

B. Reset your phone/audio devices

  1. Turn OFF your phone or audio devices and turn it back ON

  2. Toggle between Airplane mode ON and OFF to reboot the Bluetooth connection (if available) if you are still having trouble finding the device

  3. After the reset, keep your soundbar OFF. Turn ON the pairing mode on your phone/audio devices before turning ON the soundbar. Switch the soundbar's source to BT mode once it is powered on

C. Eliminate potential interference

  1. Switch off the wireless connection or power down the likely interferers, such as other Bluetooth devices or other wireless transmitting devices nearby

  2. Power off your WiFi router (Another potential obstacle to successful pairing is interference from devices that use the same spectrum, such as your Wi-Fi router)

D. Power off the previously-connected devices to your phone/audio devices or your soundbar

If you're having trouble pairing your phone with the soundbar, it could be caused by the previously connected Bluetooth devices are trying to activate its usual connection to previously connected device. In this case, the previously-connected device could be trying to reconnect back to your phone/audio devices or back to your soundbar.

  1. Some older devices are very simple. They just try to connect with the last thing they paired with

  2. If a Bluetooth device was previously paired with something else, turn off that other gadget to allow the Bluetooth device to be free for establishing new connection

  3. Delete the potential devices from your phone/audio device and initial new pairing for soundbar

E. Reset your phone/audio devices (for non-first time pairing)

If your devices have previously paired with the soundbar:

If your phone sees a device but isn’t receiving data from it, sometimes it helps to start from scratch.

1. For iOS devices

a. Go to Settings

b. Select Bluetooth

c. Ensure the Bluetooth is turned ON

d. Tap on the name of the device

e. Forget this Device

f. Now the device is removed from the paired list

2. For Android settings

a. Go to Settings

b. Tap on a device’s name

c. Tap on Unpair

d. Now the device is removed from the paired list

After the reset, keep your soundbar off and turn on the pairing mode on your phone first. Then, turn on the soundbar and go to BT.

Note: Our Shockwafe DTS:X soundbars features Bluetooth connection with AptX high quality wireless streaming (applicable for Ultra 9.2 DTS:X, Elite 7.2 DTS:X and Pro 7.1 DTS:X). AptX high quality Bluetooth streaming requires aptX-enabled devices. Please refer to the user manual/specification of your devices for compatibility.
